Upcoming Community Service Programs for Children

Volunteer at Hobbs Farm (Bethel Hobbs Farm, Centereach) (Grades 3 – 5)

Tuesday, November 3, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (School closed)

Kids will help with various farm tasks such as weeding beds, planting seeds, and picking produce. Dress for a mess and for the weather! In the event of extreme weather, this program may be rescheduled or cancelled. Please note this program is offsite and parents/caregivers (over the age of 18) must stay with their child at the farm. Patriotic Jars to Donate (Grades 3 – 5)

Monday, November 16, 4:30–5:30 p.m. 

Make jars filled with nostalgic questions and kind phrases for veterans to reflect on. Taught by Theresa Maritato. Register here starting 11/2.

Holiday Cards for Senior Citizens (Grades 3 – 5)

Tuesday, November 24, 4:30–5:30 p.m. 

Spread some holiday cheer with handmade cards! Help brighten a senior’s day by creating festive, heartwarming holiday cards for the Nursing Home Card Project. Register here starting 11/10.

Holiday Ornaments for Our Heroes (Grades 3 – 5)

Wednesday, December 2, 4:30–5:30 p.m. 

Come get crafty with us as we make holiday ornaments for deployed service members and veterans. Register here starting 11/18.

Winter Scarf Project (Grades 3 – 5)

Wednesday, December 16, 4:30–5:30 p.m. 

Give the gift of warmth this holiday season! Join us to make a fleece winter scarf and gift tags to donate to our “Give Warmth” Drive. Register here starting 12/2.
