Brainfuse – Kids can get free tutoring and homework help!
Be sure to have your library barcode ready AND mention that you are a New York State student, and they will put you through to a Common Core-Trained Tutor. There is live homework help, a writing lab, and even assistance with your Spanish homework. Starting on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, the hours will go back to their original schedule of 2pm to 11pm.
Britannica Elementary – Encyclopedia articles, full-text journal and magazine articles, primary sources, multimedia, and other unique resources and tools just right for grades K-6.
CultureGrams Kids Edition– concise, reliable, and up-to-date reports on more than 200 countries, each U.S. state, and all 13 Canadian provinces and territories.
This database has primary sources and both cultural & statistical country reports. There are maps, videos, photos, interviews, biographies, recipes, flags, graphs, tables, and more!
Daily Life Through History – explores ordinary life through time and across the globe, bringing the past to life through details and insights that turn flat descriptions of historical characters into real, “just like me” human beings.
Flipster – Family and Kids – Flipster is a digital magazine service featuring a variety of titles for adults and kids.
Gale in Context: Elementary – (formerly Kids Infobits) contains age-appropriate magazines for grades K-5. Also includes Merriam-Webster’s Elementary Dictionary, maps, flags, seals, charts, graphs, and videos to support STEM topics.
Hoopla – hoopla is a digital media service offered by the library that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV! With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later.
Kanopy Kids – Educational, Enriching, and Entertaining! Libby – Livebrary’s downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, and read-alongs!
Muzzy Online Language Learning – Kids can learn another language with this award winning program! *You will need to enter your patron barcode located on the back of your library card (no spaces) in order to access Muzzy.
National Geographic Kids – videos, pictures, books, & magazines. Fun and substantive, all you need is your library card for free adventures in science, nature, culture, archaeology, and space! Engage your kids and broaden their horizons with reputable, authoritative, and child-focused content that brings them the world in a way they’ve never seen it before.
Novelist K-8 – Find fiction and nonfiction titles for children and young adults. Search by title, author, series or reading level to find similar titles and reviews.
Tumblebooks – an animated, talking picture book library that helps kids learn to read and build vocabulary in an interactive format. Tumble Books also includes chapter books, non-fiction books, puzzes and games, language learning, and National Geographic videos.
World Book – contains thousands of informational articles with stunning illustrations, videos, interactive maps, research help, and activities.
